Taste the difference

Join us on relaxed day of learning where we’ll look at the everything you need to know for successful veg growing – including ground preparation, creating your own compost, sowing and planting a variety of vegetables, general maintenance and crop rotation.

Throughout the day you will test your own soil, learn what to prioritise to suit your own space and needs, we will sow some seeds you will take away and enjoy this Summer. Alongside this we will share our top tips on how to get the most from your harvest with some simple recipes you can make time and time again with vegetables you have grown from seed.

For those of you who grow basic veg already we will expand on your knowledge of growing as we introduce you to new and unusual varieties you might not have considered before such as: agretti, asparagus peas, borlotti beans, globe artichokes, tromboncinos ands tomatillos which will all grow in our climate.

We’ll also discover how to maximise the growing season so you always have something to harvest, learn more about how to make the most of your growing space with vertical planting opportunities and companion planting ideas such as the ‘Three Sisters’ method. We will also touch upon pests and diseases to help ensure your crops look and taste their best.

You will have worked up an appetite during the morning and we can relax over a lunch prepared by a local chef.
